Group Therapy

Today we had group therapy and it was such a nice day out that we did some activities outside. We played tennis, horseshoes, tether ball and toss across! Everyone really liked having them all set up at once and switching sports every now and then! It was a fun day!

Jerrod Niemann Concert!

We went to the Jerrod Niemann concert last night at the Genesee county fair! He put on a great country concert and the residents loved the music! This was another outing we went on using the proceeds from the Rummage/Bake Sale!

Figure 8 Derby!

Last night Randy went to the Figure 8 Derby at the Genesee County Fair. This outing was his outing of choice from the proceeds from the Rummage/Bake Sale we had in June! He also enjoyed some snacks and a drink but most of all, he enjoyed watching the race cars!

Summerfest 2011!

The “Fish” were dancing in the wind! 46 party animals, one was a dog, attended our co-hosted summer picnic. The weather almost cooperated this year, not to hot and not to wet…Awesome! A big “Thank You” to Curtis Lanxton (co-host and “Chef of the Day”) the chicken, hamburgers and hot dogs were perfect! Laura Ruggles helped set up, decorate and gave us the party atmosphere. Laura also took the pictures you can check them out in the yearly collage. Thanks! Make sure you check the next time you come to Country View. We thank all of our staff who worked behind the scenes and made sure everyone was well cared for! The party was a “Pot Luck” and the food that everyone brought was tantalizing! I am always impressed by the array and quality of food choices. Norman and Gerry Light, a father - son combo were a huge music success. A huge “Thank You goes out to Ron Krueger and the Flint Chapter of the Brain Injury Association for their efforts in co-sponsoring the event. Ron advised of the Flint BIA Chapter’s efforts and gratitude for having the Summer fest party at CV. We encourage the Flint BIA and Michigan BIA members to share in our activities and encourage them to mark their calendars and attend our events. We also encourage our clients and families to become members of the Flint BIA and Michigan BIA. Next year’s Summer Fest will be held next year on the 1^st Saturday in August. Please mark your calendars; you don’t want to miss it. Thank you all for coming and making this party so much fun!

Summer Trip 2011!

Another successful summer trip this year! We went to Detroit this year to check out Greenfield Village, The Henry Ford Museum and the Detroit Zoo! We even stayed an extra day this year! Our hotel was the TownePlace Suites by Marroitt. Some of the highlights of the trip were checking out the airplanes at the museum, seeing the horses and old time shops at Greenfield Village and watching the polar bears and all the other animals at the Zoo! It was so much fun, can't wait to see where we go next summer!
