Country View Christmas Party 2008!

We held our annual Christmas party at Country View on December 12, 2008. The activity room was full of friends and family for the evening to celebrate the holidays! Everyone felt the Christmas spirit as they walked into the activity room that was magically transformed into a Christmas wonderland. The food was great, we tried some new items this year like pork tenderloin with cranberry glaze and pineapple island chicken - delicious! There was also a Charles Dickens guitarist that entertained everyone for the night and we had another guest stop by - Santa Clause! We'd like to thank him for taking time out of his busy schedule to attend our party! We wish everyone Happy Holidays!

Stockings!

Today's craft was making everyone a Christmas stocking. We will be decorating the house soon and wanted the residents to have one of their own to hang up! We used stockings, puffy paint and glitter... they look great!

Halloween Party 2008!

The ghouls and ghosts were out on the night of our Halloween party! The whole house was looking spooky as ever! Everyone added to the atmosphere as they showed up in their scary costumes! There was a lot going on; including a clown for entertainment, pumpkin decorating, Theo telling a scary story about Country View, costume and pumpkin contests and treats galore! The food was delicious, including the chocolate monster fingers! Thanks to everyone that helped out with the great decorations and party planning!

Yummy Fall Treats!

Today we couldn't decide if we should make caramel apples or no bake cookies for a nice fall treat - so we did BOTH! The residents loved making their own caramel apples and dipping them in M&Ms and sprinkles. The no bakes were also a winner, we tried out the peanut butter/butterscotch recipe and it will be featured in our January newsletter! Try it out!

Chicago Trip 2008!

The residents had their annual summer trip last month and their destination this time - CHICAGO! The planned stops were Shedd Aquarium and The Field Museum, and of course take in the views of the city! They had a great trip - where will they head next year?

Genesee County Fair!

We used the money raised from the Rummage/Bake sale this year to attend events at the Genesee County Fair. The residents got to choose what they would like to attend. They went to concerts, races, motocross and more! They also enjoyed a treat of choice and a drink. We also used the remaining money for a Chinese lunch! Check out our pictures below!

Summerfest 2008!

Another great party! This year's Summerfest had a "frog" theme - everywhere you looked, you saw green! There was even frog games and everyone joined in on the fun! The BBQ turned out great and the band played a variety of great tunes that we all enjoyed. See ya next year!

Summer time at Country View!
