Halloween Party 2009!

Mad scientists and Thriller dance! That was the theme for this year's Country View Halloween party! The activity room was transformed into a mad scientist laboratory - which included Egor, a Mad Scientist, beakers with glow sticks, eyes in a jar and much more! The hosts for the evening were Holly Hall and Camille Coleman who transformed into Dr. Hallstein and Dr. Colestein for the evening! We had a pumpkin contest and a costume contest, everyone looked great! We also had surprise entertainment, zombies preformed the Thriller dance by Micheal Jackson! It was preformed by the girls from Deloris's School of Dance in Flushing, they did a great job! The zombies were sitting around the room and when Thriller played they crawled their way to the dance floor and surprised everyone! Who knows what surprises we'll have next year!

Today turned out to be a really nice day so we decided to all go the orchard and take a hayride! We got cider, donutes and pumpkins too! It was a nice way to celebrate fall...

Boss's Day!

This year on Boss's Day we took the time to appreciate our Boss's - Damon, Carol & Trina! They do so much for all of us throughout the year and make Country View the best it can be! We thanked them with a homemade lunch and gift baskets from the staff! Thanks for being the best!

Baby Shower!

Lateaka, a caregiver at Country View, is having a baby girl! We threw her a surprise baby shower after the October employee meeting!

BIA Conference!

Last week was the annual Brain Injury Association conference in Lansing. Some of our staff and residents attended the conference and really enjoyed it, there was a lot of great booths! Here are some photos from the day...

Monster Trucks & Concert!

The Rummage/Bake sale money this year went towards monster truck racing and a country concert! The guys loved watching the monster trucks race around the track and climb over other cars and everyone else enjoyed a country concert with Julianne Hough from Dancing with the Stars and Keith Anderson! Everyone enjoyed a snack and a drink while they watched the show. We also have money left over for a pizza party! Thanks again to all that helped out in the sale!

Summer Vacation 2009!

Time for a summer vacation! Last year we visited Chicago and had a great time, this year we decided to go to St. Clair Shores and participate in a fishing derby! We had a great time going out on the boats and catching lots of fish! We also took a tour of Morley Chocolate Factory and received lots of samples of chocolates and saw how it was made. This was a great trip, can't wait to see what new adventure we'll be going on next year!

Summerfest 2009!

This past Saturday was our annual Summerfest party co-hosted with the BIA of Michigan! It was a very rainy day but that didn't damper our party! We held the party in the activity room and enjoyed great music by the band "Back 40", enjoyed a great BBQ and most importantly, hung out with family and friends!
