Homemade "Stained Glass" Butterflies

Today we made homemade "stained glass" butterflies for the windows. They are made using tissue paper! It was a fun craft and they look really pretty in the resident's windows!

Rummage/Bake Sale 2011!

The Rummage/Bake sale was a huge success! The weather was perfect, so perfect that we were loading up on the sunscreen! We had a new screen tent this year that held the baked goods which consisted of cookies, brownies, cupcakes, pies and much more! Our grand total was $331.59! All the proceeds will go to an outing of choice! Thanks to all that helped out!

Signs!

Next week is the Rummage and Bake Sale so we had to get busy making the signs today! By the time we were done, we were covered in glitter and glue!

Balloon Launch!

We did our annual balloon launch this past Friday. We wrote our names down in balloons, filled them with helium and sent them flying into the air! Hopefully we hear back and see how far they went! Either way, it was a fun time and nice outside for the launch!

About Me!

Today we had crafts outside because it was so nice out! We made "About Me" posters. Each resident had a poster to fill out - listing hobbies, likes and dislikes, where they've been and lived... It was nice to hear their stories! For example, David has been to almost all the states but Hawaii and Alaska! Check the posters out in the activity room next time you are here!

The fish are back! Check out the Country View pond and all the fish. We have Koi fish and catfish and they love when you feed them!

Cinco de Mayo!

Happy Cinco de Mayo! Today we had a Cinco de Mayo lunch party. Crystal made some delicious homemade burritos from Carol's recipes, so good! We ate in the activity room for a change of pace and had Mexican music as background music, we had a great time!

Spring is FINALLY here!

Every year we paint birdhouses to hang on the pole in the outside gardens. It finally feels like Spring so we painted them today! Keep an eye out for them when you are in our gardens!

Easter Egg Hunt!

We had out annual Easter egg hunt today at Country View! There was almost 100 eggs in the activity room hidden all over! Everyone loved going around trying to spot them out. And of course, getting all the goodies inside the eggs. We even had bonus eggs that contained money. Happy Easter!

Arts, Crafts & Games!

Today in Arts & Crafts we made our Easter crafts! We made a door hanger and chocolate bunny ornaments to decorate the activity center. We also tried out a new game of tabletop basketball. Remember to think spring!
