Summer Vacation 2009!

Time for a summer vacation! Last year we visited Chicago and had a great time, this year we decided to go to St. Clair Shores and participate in a fishing derby! We had a great time going out on the boats and catching lots of fish! We also took a tour of Morley Chocolate Factory and received lots of samples of chocolates and saw how it was made. This was a great trip, can't wait to see what new adventure we'll be going on next year!

Summerfest 2009!

This past Saturday was our annual Summerfest party co-hosted with the BIA of Michigan! It was a very rainy day but that didn't damper our party! We held the party in the activity room and enjoyed great music by the band "Back 40", enjoyed a great BBQ and most importantly, hung out with family and friends!

Wheelchair Dazes Picnic!

Another great year at Wheelchair Dazes sponsored by Wright & Filippis! There was so much to do - play games, dunk tank, face painting, lots of goodies to eat.... we thank you for a great day!

The busy month of July at Country View!

Summer's almost done, we can't believe it! So far it's been a great one, so much to do! Here's some photos highlighting the month of July! Don't forget Country View's Summerfest 2009 going on next weekend, we hope to see you there!

Today we went to Stepping Stone Falls. It was a nice, sunny day for it!

Rummage/Bake Sale 2009!

Another great year for the Rummage/Bake Sale! We had wonderful weather this year, perfect for the sale. We also had a lot of nice, used treasures and delicious baked goods! We raised $356.80! All the proceeds from the sale will go towards an outing of choice, each resident will choose what event they would like to attend. They will pick from concerts, racing, a bull riding show, motocross, and more! We'd like to send a BIG thanks to everyone that donated to the sale and all who helped out working at the sale. See you next year!

Balloon Launch 2009!

Last Friday we did our annual Balloon Launch! We launched some balloons with notes in them and if anyone found them, we asked them to write us back telling us how far the balloon went! So far, Diana and David have had a note returned to them! One was from Fort Gratiot, MI and one was from Burton, MI. The furthest so far was 92 miles! Wow!

Crafts

Today we made the signs for the Rummage/Bake Sale coming up next week! Remember to stop on by and get some goodies! Thursday June 4th and Friday, June 5th 9-4! Rain or shine!

Tennis anyone?

We bought a tennis set for Counrty View to use outside this summer. We tried it out today - looks like we have a couple tennis stars!

Strawberry Rhubarb Pies

We made homemade strawberry rhubarb pies last week from freshy picked rhubarb! They were a hit!

Summer's Coming!

We made our new birdhouses for the gardens in crafts. Have a look around in our gardens when you stop by - you'll be sure to spot one!

Cinco de Mayo!

It was Cinco de Mayo May 5th so we made some homemade sombreros! We even had a contest to see who would win the "Best Decorated Sombrero" - David won! Then after that there was a large Mexican dinner!
