Country View Christmas Party 2007
Country View held its annual Christmas party on Friday, December 14th. The activity room was transformed into a cozy old fashioned Christmas with sparkling lights, beautiful scenery and a fireplace with a chimney. Everyone had a great time! Santa even stopped by during this busy time of year to pass out gifts to all the clients and kids. The wonderful entertainment was provided by the First Presbyterian Church of Flint Hand Bell Choir; they played all the favorite Christmas sounds with their hand bells and sang along also. The delicious menu and desserts was provided by Linda Reigle Catering. It was so nice to see all the staff, clients and families at this special time of year. I would like to thank everyone that helped out with the party and a very special thank you to my co-host Camille Coleman. Have a Happy New Year!

A Smurfy Time!
Country View’s Annual Halloween party was held on October 26, 2007. We tried a new idea this year; the staff and clients decided to have a “theme party” where we could all dress alike. The theme was “The Smurfs”. The activity room was decorated to look like a Smurf village, with Smurfs anxiously awaiting the arrival of Halloween. There was plenty of witches, bats and ghosts all around. We spent the evening with numerous other characters as well as vampires, pirates, super heroes and even an animal or two. The entertainment was provided by Virgil Man of Mystery. His magic was enjoyed by both children and adults. Another new idea this year was the food. We had a taco bar with all the trimmings as well as side dishes and desserts galore. The winners of the pumpkin contest were: 1st place – Nancy, 2nd place Randy and 3rd place Diana. The winners of the costume contest were; Children; 1st place – Brendan Peterson (Dracula), 2nd place – Jacob Shaw (elephant), 3rd place - Dominique Webster (pirate). The Adult winners were; 1st place Amy Mathews (Sandy from Grease), 2nd place – Damon Huffman (Mama Smurf) and 3rd place – Shari Innes (Grouchy Smurf). CONGRATULATIONS to all the winners! Trina, Pam and I would like to thank all the staff, clients, families and friends who attended this year and helped to make our party a success. We hope to see each of you again next year!

Italian Night!
Our dining room was recently turned into a little piece of Italy! The residents dined in style for their first "Italian Night" at Country View! Candle light filled the room, they had Italian placemats that had the words "Buon Appetito!" on them, Italian music played and there was even after dinner mints that said "Grazie" on them! Everyone had a great time!

Celebrate the Caribbean!!!!
That is what everyone did on March 9th here at Country View. Andrew Lloyd set the tone for the party by playing his steel drum. Caribbean songs rang out and got everyone tapping their feet and moving to the music. All the lights, palm trees, flamingos and the great waterfall made us feel like we were on an Island. A great big thank you goes out to Holly Hall and Camille Coleman for doing such a spectacular job with the decorations. The delicious food, friendship and good time were enjoyed by all. We hope that you’ll take a trip to the Caribbean with us next year in March when we sail off into the sunset. -Carol Bence
